Tourism and Events Queensland – Experience Design Pilot Program 2021
Posted on July 14th, 2021
Eleven of our region’s operators have been selected to participate in Tourism and Events Queensland’s (TEQ) Experience Design Pilot Program in partnership with Capricorn Enterprise. The program launched this week with a presentation by David Morgan and Alex Perpich from TEQ followed by One-on-One mentoring sessions with Amanda Kruse from Success Matrix. TEQ have developed The Ultimate Transformational Experience Guide which focuses on 7 steps to creating better value for guests and businesses. The aim is to help put operators at the forefront of a global travel movement and increase bookings and revenue.
In this new era of travel, people are actively seeking experiences that enrich, awaken and transform them. They want to ignite something new within themselves by consciously connecting with and appreciating our extraordinary planet, its people and cultures. The guide will enable operators to transform their experience offering and business to meet and exceed the needs of the travellers of today and tomorrow. The program involves up to ten hours mentoring and about twenty hours additional commitment over a two-month period to complete the Experience Design program.
Grant Cassidy of the Edge and Empire Apartment Hotels is featured as one of industry’s case studies, recognizing his experience and success as a multi award winning tourism business delivering exceptional customer service and environmental sustainability. Grant says “empowering staff to respond to customer feedback and problem solve means our customers are happy and staff feel good because they can see the difference they are making to the guest experience. Invest in the front end and it will reflect in the back end. Our business is thriving. I can’t reinforce enough the importance of consistently delivering uncompromising standards. It’s a win-win for the customer, our team and the business.”
“People are more aware than ever of their impact on the environment which includes how they travel and where they stay. They are looking to embrace experiences that are good for the planet and want to align with businesses who share their values. We are really proud to make such a significant difference and have received an enormous amount of praise and support from our guests and staff since we launched the program.” says Grant.
This is a wonderful initiative by TEQ and it is hoped that the program will continue again next year so that more operators in our region can participate in the Experience Design program.
