Capricorn Enterprise – working for you

Capricorn Enterprise continues to strategically market the Capricorn region to domestic and international consumers, trade, media and business, while supporting and developing industry projects, attracting large scale investment and driving the region’s economy forward.

As part of this, we work with partners, sponsors and members to

  • promote the Capricorn region as a desirable holiday destination within regional, state, national and international markets,
  • ensure the community within the region has a high level of understanding of the benefits of tourism,
  • assist the facilitation of a strong, healthy and diverse local economy with emphasis on the development of new or expanded tourism enterprises for the region, and
  • provide visitors with a range of quality information and booking services including the Capricorn Visitor Centres, 1800 tourist information number and consumer websites.

In the past twelve months, Capricorn Enterprise has also launched several new websites and platforms to assist locals and visitors alike.

Making the move to our destination to work, live and play has also been made even easier with the one-stop digital platform, Live Capricorn Coast, launched in April, reflecting the extensive and diverse lifestyle offerings available from the coast to the city. The platform captures the essence of one of Queensland’s fastest growing areas outside of the southeast corner and home of choice for more than 120,000 residents. More than 1500 users have accessed the website 7,835 times to gain information from real estate options to local schools, to community events and career opportunities.

In February, as part of the Live Capricorn Coast platform, Capricorn Enterprise launched a new Community and Sporting Directory webpage which was designed as a one stop shop to discover local community-based organisations and sporting clubs offering a range of activities and information to suit your family needs. The page has already welcomed more than 500 unique visitors, spending an average of 3.5 minutes on the page.

The liveability platform also includes a Business Events Hub, designed to assist business and industry to find local business events across the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton region, from workshops and networking to conferences and online classes. Businesses and industry are able to submit a business event to be reviewed for inclusion on the calendar.

Following its launch back in September 2020, Capricorn Enterprise’s Work in Central Queensland platform continues to grow and strengthen as more jobseekers and employers look to connect and discover opportunities across the region. The accompanying Facebook page of the same name, www.facebook.com/WorkinCentralQueensland/, reached 11,309 people in the last month and 1,476 post engagements.

The Taste Capricorn Coast website was launched in late May 2021 featuring 46 local Growers & Makers and Eateries & Retailers, 31 of those businesses feature on the Taste Capricorn Coast Food Trail. Two more businesses have since joined, Seafood Pompano (food truck) and Tanby Dragon fruit (farm gate). The food trail will help locals and visitors alike to discover the finest produce the Capricorn Coast has to offer. The website has seen 1,500 visitors in the past two months and has had a reach of 6.1K people on Facebook and 3.9K people on Instagram.

With over 100 sources feeding into the ‘What’s On’ page through the Everi event platform, the site offers an easy and convenient way to search for events and festivals in the Capricorn region. The comprehensive search function helps you find upcoming sporting, music, markets, performing arts, health and wellbeing, food and wine events, along with fishing competitions, art workshops and activities for the kids… and the list goes on. This year, the region’s event calendar is jam packed!
