Do you know a local business or enterprise who is going above and beyond to deliver consistent and outstanding service across our region? Or perhaps a business who has showcased an exceptional response to their COVID-19 business environment, surviving and thriving through what has been a challenging period?

The inaugural Best in Business Awards, hosted in partnership by Capricorn Enterprise and the Capricornia Chamber of Commerce, will highlight our exceptional broad industry business drivers who are using innovation and expertise to move the region forward.

Providing a platform to celebrate success, further motivate and inspire others, the Awards encompass eight categories including Best New Business, Best Small to Medium Business, Best Medium to Large Business, Best Community Enterprise, Best Employee as nominated by an Employer, Best Apprentice or Trainee as nominated by an Employer, Best Response to the COVID-19 Business Environment and People’s Choice.

In addition to the competitive awards, the Best in Business Awards will also recognize organisations who are part of the Best of Queensland 100 (assessed by Tourism and Events Queensland) and businesses who have been in continuous operation within the region for over 20 years.

Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll is proud to announce the launch of these prestigious Awards, with winners receiving accolades at the gala event in November.

“After what has been a demanding 18 months on local business, the Awards will provide a positive impact on businesses and people across our community and celebrate many local operations who provide excellence within our region, making it a superb place to work, live and play,” Mary said.

“We encourage everyone to get behind their preferred and favoured local businesses, nominate and grab your tickets for our forthcoming night of nights.”

President of the Capricornia Chamber of Commerce, Phil Henry, said that while the overall impact of Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions had been less severe than in other regions of Queensland, businesses had needed to review every aspect of their operations to ensure they not only complied with Covid regulations, but also positioned themselves to benefit.

“The awards will enable these businesses to shine a light on how they had adapted and how well their customers and clients had responded.”

Nominations for business and employees are to be submitted through the online nomination portal – https://capricornenterprise.com.au/best_in_business_awards/ and will remain open until close of business on Friday 29th October with People’s Choice Awards accepted until 20th November.

For those wanting to get in early to secure tickets to mingle among the ‘who’s who’ list of Central Queensland businesses, individual seats or tables can be purchased now via www.ivvy.com.au/event/KMKFM8/.

The COVID-safe event, to be held on Saturday 27th November 2021, presented by Master of Ceremonies, Alexandra Cullen will welcome up to 250 guests at Kortes Resort in Rockhampton, with the dancefloor coming to life proceeding formalities with the Rhonda Janes Band.

“Our local businesses, whether small, medium, large, new or old are the lifeblood of our regional economy and we should all be extremely proud of the community we have collectively created across Central Queensland,” Mary said. “Excellence is not an act; it’s a habit and these Awards will exemplify our best of the best.”
