COVID mandate signage, worker shortages & micro credential information

With state government mandates being enforced from 17 December for hospitality, entertainment businesses and tourism experiences, signage has been provided for businesses in regards to vaccination status:

CLICK HERE to read about “Vaccination requirements for workers in high risk settings.”

Extract: If you manage a setting where only vaccinated people may work, and are experiencing critical workforce shortages, you can permit a worker who is unvaccinated to enter, work in, or provide services in the facility for a short period, such as three months…This allows you time to recruit or make alternative arrangements to ensure there are enough vaccinated workers to avoid ongoing worker shortages.

In addition, a free online TAFE Queensland training course is available to implement the new measures and manage the entry of customers.

This new micro-credential explains what the new restrictions mean and how people can prove their vaccination status. Businesses will need to display the vaccination requirements and use their best efforts to ask for evidence of vaccination from customers at the time of check-in.  Business owners and staff are not expected to be the police – if compliance issues arise, the Queensland Police should be called.

Check In Qld app

If your business is required to use the Check In Qld app, you must still ensure all customers, staff and visitors to your premises are checking in.

Vaccination certificates can now be linked into the Check In Qld app to make it simple for your customers to prove vaccination status.

Learn more about checking vaccination status through the Check In Qld app.
