Legal Lunch informs local businesses

Approximately 60 local business owners and Capricorn Enterprise Members attended the Legal Lunch on Tuesday 8th December to learn more about topical legal issues with Jonathan Mamaril, NB Lawyers, and Melanie Findlay, Rees R & Sydney Jones.

With the first session exploring the current cases dealing with the issue of mandatory vaccinations in the workplace, attendees were able to develop a better understanding of what employers can do and Employment Law legal ramifications in respect to WH&S specifically. An extended Q&A session with Jonathan provided further guidance for businesses on this topical issues.

Congratulations also to Janice Seymour of Archer Park Rail Museum and Nyree Johnson of Johnson’s 4WD Repair Shop who won a charging device and gift voucher for further consultation in the lucky door prize provided by NB Lawyers.

Session two reviewed the legal impacts of NetZero2050 and covered a range of topics from Renewable Energy Zones to Reef Credits and Environmental Markets. As this topical issues continues to develop, Melanie provided a fascinating insight into how businesses are approaching NetZero2050 and other environmental developments across our region and beyond.

Following these very informative sessions, Capricorn Enterprise would like to express our appreciation to the Legal Lunch presenters for their time and effort.

During this time, we are very aware that information and knowledge is critical and Capricorn Enterprise will continue to work with business operators and the local community to ensure quality, relevant and up-to-date information.
