Forum reflects on Central Queensland’s future

CHDC’s Economic Futures Forum was held on Tuesday 15th March in Emerald, presenting comparative data, forecasting and economic updates to gain perspective for the path ahead. Approximately 100 attendees heard from presenters Dr Amanda Cahill (The Next Economy), Michael Anthonisz (Queensland Treasury Corporation), Dr Ewan McPhee (Emerald Medical Group) and Melissa Westacott (Local Buying Foundation).

The speakers touched on a range of diverse topics including the social and economic impacts of energy industry’s transition to net zero; key themes for economy and interest rates, including the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict; labour, coal industry and agricultural forecasts; Central Queensland heath resourcing issues and mental heath issues in the workplace.
