First opened to the public in 1974, Mount Hay Gemstone Tourist Park is known for its 120 million year old Thundereggs and Spherulitic Rhyolite, and this Sunday at 5:30pm on Channel 9’s My Way, Don and Ken Kayes share their story with the nation.

The Park, located 36 kilometres west of Rockhampton is a well-known destination for the purchase of semi-precious Australian gemstone products, cut and polished in the Mount Hay factory. It is also home to ‘Aradon Fine Pewter’, where a large range of Australiana gift lines and souvenirs are purchased and marketed nationally.

Visitors to the Park can go fossicking, and experience a guided tour of the area, before witnessing their stones being cut.

Commissioned by Capricorn Enterprise, tune into Channel 9’s My Way from 5:30pm and discover more about this ancient, internationally recognised landmark.
