Over the weekend, six UK-based travel professionals, including Jenny Taylor-Page, Product Manager for Prestige Travel, recently explored the Capricorn Coast and Southern Great Barrier Reef destination as part of a whirlwind 10-day Queensland itinerary that also included Tropical North Queensland, the Sunshine Coast, and Brisbane, with support from Tourism & Events Queensland (TEQ). Agents from Sussex Travel Company, The Holiday Village, Thames Valley Travel, Ponders Travel, and Adams Travel joined the visit, returning home with fresh inspiration to promote the Southern Great Barrier Reef to UK holidaymakers. This marked Prestige Travel’s very first Queensland only famil – and for many of the agents, their first visit to Queensland, making their time on the Capricorn Coast, Southern Great Barrier Reef especially significant.
Thanks to ongoing relationship building through key international trade events – including Tourism Australia’s Marketplace UK Europe, ATE, and most recently the “Queensland is Calling” UK Europe event in Mallorca – Capricorn Enterprise was proud to secure valuable time for the Capricorn Coast within this high-impact itinerary.
Hosted highlights included a guided tour of the Capricorn Caves, crocodile encounters at Koorana Crocodile Farm, a spectacular sunset cruise with Funtastic Cruises, breakfast at The Waterline Restaurant, and an exhilarating Adventure Cruise with Freedom Fast Cats, with an on island buggy tour with GKI Hideaway. The agents enjoyed accommodation at Villa Mar Colina, enjoying the property’s stunning penthouse apartment, dining at Vue Yeppoon.
The famil continued south through the wider Southern Great Barrier Reef destination, including a unique tour with 1770 LARC! Tours and a day trip to Lady Elliot Island – rounding out an unforgettable Queensland introduction for this influential group of UK travel experts.
