Journey to the Southern Great Barrier Reef

From helicopters to fast boats, boomnets to buggies, sunrise to sunset, for five days last week, we were thrilled to host production company Proud Nomads to film our beautiful destination which will feature in a one (1) hour bespoke episode for both television (Ch9) and on-line, as well as social media clips and B-roll vision for multi-media promotion. Another first of its kind, Capricorn Enterprise, in partnership with our neighbouring Gladstone region commissioned David Whitehill and Roger Price to produce this cinematic “Journey to the Southern Great Barrier Reef” which will air later this year on Channel 9 and will promote six (6) segments (3 segments each region).  Our three segments will feature the incredible diversity of our Capricorn Coast Region, from Capricorn Caves to Koorana Crocodile Farm, Byfield National Park (Five Rocks) to Great Keppel and Pumpkin Islands and will feature the coastline by helicopter with Great Ocean Helicopters (which recently purchased Rockhampton Helicopters).  Filming also included Great Keppel Island Hideaway, Keppel Dive & Watersports, The Waterline Restaurant KBM, High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm, Freedom Fast Cats, Yeppoon Lagoon, Keppel Bay Sailing Club, the township and coastline.  Thanks to our local ‘talent’ at various locations – it is our people, place and products that produce incredible vision to promote our destination.  The film crew continued on to the Gladstone region to capture vision at Heron and Wilson Islands and the Town of 1770 including 1770 LARC! Tours and 1770 Dive Spear and Sport.  We can’t wait to view this cinematic vision of our stunning Southern Great Barrier Reef destination in the second half of this year!
