Capricorn Coast region well represented at the 2025 Sydney Caravan and Camping Show
Posted on May 13th, 2025
Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre volunteer Ilona Higgins proudly represented our destination at the 2025 Sydney Caravan and Camping Show, which welcomed over 43,000 attendees across six days (April 29 – May 4).
The event was a vibrant showcase of Australia’s favourite touring regions, with the Capricorn Coast region drawing interest from visitors seeking coastal adventures and laid-back holiday options.
Ilona engaged with hundreds of potential travellers with conversations ranging from planning iconic road trips and exploring Queensland’s coastlines to practical travel topics like van and boat storage.
Inland and outback routes drew attention, with many visitors discussing itineraries along the Capricorn and Savannah Highways.
Grey nomads continued to dominate the crowd, joined by adventurous groups, single travellers, and families planning extended “lap of Australia” trips.
A number of attendees sought information on bike and hiking trails, reflecting a shift toward more active, nature-based travel.
Ilona will finalise any follow-up tasks upon her return to the VIC, but her efforts have already played a key role in continuing to put the Capricorn Coast region on the map for thousands of potential visitors.
We extend our thanks to Ilona for her time, passion, and dedication.
