Business Chamber Queensland – The latest on fuel security and how you can access support

Hundreds of businesses have told Business Chamber Queensland they’ve been directly impacted by fuel supply disruptions and would welcome support via cash flow measures, help to retain employees, and clear coordinated communication.

Business Chamber Queensland are continuing to advocate for business to both levels of government, to ensure you can keep operating during this challenging period.

Measures announced by the Government to date include: An additional 5.7 cent per litre cut to the fuel excise for three months (on top of it being cut by half earlier this week) bringing the total fuel excise reduction to 32 cents per litre. An Economic Resilience Program that will provide zero interest loans to fuel, fertiliser, and other critical supply chain businesses impacted by market disruptions. Temporary relief for businesses unable to meet their tax obligations due to fuel supply issues, including more generous payment plans, remission of interest and penalties, and support in varying PAYG instalments where there has been a downturn in taxable income. Extending the Small Business Responsible Leading Obligation exemption for a further 10 years. Reducing the Heavy Vehicle Road User Charge to zero for three months and deferring the next scheduled increase in the Charge by six months.
